CURRICULUM VITAE

Zacharoula Gkriela is an Attorney at Law admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Greece (Areios Pagos).

She graduated from the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and has been practicing law actively since 1995, successfully and effectively handling cases mainly in the fields of Civil Law and Criminal Law.

She runs a well-organized law office in the center of Athens, providing legal counseling and litigation services to both individuals and corporate clients.

She serves as a trainer at the Pastoral Training Foundation, specializing in issues related to domestic violence.

She is a scientific associate of the Think Tank for the Modernization of Justice (OPED), contributing to the design and implementation of the program “Domestic Violence – Juvenile Delinquency.”

She has attended the postgraduate training program “Applied Criminal Procedure” at the European University of Cyprus, as well as the postgraduate program “Judicial Psychology – Forensic Psychiatry” at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

She is the Founder and President of the Non-Profit Civil Company “Hellenic Center for the Protection of Women and Motherhood – Asterodeia AMKE”, aiming to support women, strengthen the family institution, and combat domestic violence. Within this framework, free legal counseling and psychotherapy are provided to victims of gender-based and domestic violence.

She has served as a volunteer legal advisor for the “Association for the Protection of the Unborn Child – I Agkalia” and as Secretary General from 2010 to 2019.
She has also served as a member of the Disciplinary Council of the Athens Bar Association.

Her articles on various legal topics have been published in magazines and blogs such as newsotherwise.gr, singleparent.gr, and e-themis, covering subjects including:

• Surrogacy

• Abortions and the rights of the unborn child

• Pedophilia as a phenomenon of modern society

• The right of communication of the non-custodial parent

• Abduction of a legally recognized child born out of wedlock, among others.

She has participated as a speaker in various scientific conferences and in seminars organized by the Association of Greek Jurists E-themis.

She has received awards for her social action and contribution from:

• the Association of Large Families of Eastern Attica “Saints Terentius and Neonilla”,

• the UNESCO Group of the Southern Suburbs, and

• the Panhellenic Association of Paraplegics.
